Trust in a better way forward
The Enlist™ Weed Control System will deliver the exceptional performance you need as you look ahead. Enlist builds on glyphosate-tolerant technology to meet the needs of tomorrow.
It will give robust tolerance to a new 2,4-D product and glyphosate, and will enable a complimentary mode of action
and broader-spectrum control. So you can keep
farming the way you prefer.
It's time for a new way
The spread of weeds poses a growing threat to the
glyphosate-tolerant system. The Enlist™ Weed Control System
will give you a powerful new tool – delivering the
exceptional performance you need as you look ahead.
So you can keep farming the way you prefer.
Next-generation technology for farming
Innovation drives productivity. That's never been more true than right now.
Glyphosate-tolerant technology raised yield potential to a whole new level, one the past generation of growers may have found unthinkable.
And the rise of tough weeds now puts that system at risk.
The Enlist™ Weed Control System will offer a new way to keep increasing productivity — delivering exceptional performance by building on today's glyphosate-tolerant system.
"The quality of life that I have as a producer today is so much
better than the quality of life that my dad or my grandfather had. I
hope the next generation enjoys continued improvement in their
quality of life. And the technology we have is a key part of that."
Pat Duncanson, Mapleton, Minn.

A new tool to carry farming forward
The spread of weeds poses tough questions for farmers who depend on the glyphosate-tolerant system.
Malcolm Haigwood of Newport, Ark., sees growers of every generation struggle for answers. "Farmers my dad's age just want to put on more glyphosate, but I see them losing their fields. Guys my son's age have only farmed with the glyphosate-tolerant system. He's asked me, 'Dad, what do we do?'"

Productivity is important. But for Pat Duncanson of Mapleton, Minn., so is protecting his family farm for generations to come.
"One of our cornerstone values is to make sure that our farm is in better shape when we pass it on to the next generation than it is today," he says.
For Duncanson, that means using the best tools available.
"We hope to maintain the trait technology tools that we have today as long as possible. And that includes future generations."

The future of farming begins here
Technology has raised productivity to unprecedented levels.
But it will take new ideas to fulfill the future needs of farming.

How do weeds challenge you?
Glyphosate-tolerant technology revolutionized modern farming. Matt Schafer of LaCrosse, Ind., says that's undeniable. "It's made weed control easy," he says.
But the continuing spread of weeds is putting his confidence to the test.
"Over the years, we've seen weeds adapt to different chemistries," he says. "It looks like we're back dealing with old foes, like lambsquarters, that are becoming tough again."
When something just works, it frees you up to focus on other areas of your farm. That's been true across the board for growers using glyphosate-tolerant technology.
-
At least, until it stops working quite so well.
Matt Schafer of LaCrosse, Ind., has seen weeds threaten not only his fields, but also his bottom line.
"If there are enough of them out there, weeds don't have to be all that big before they're impacting your crop in a negative way."

"When we see an increase in weed pressure, it can lead
to an increase in the number of spray trips in the field.
The more times you're out in the field, the more compaction
issues you're going to see. That can affect crop yield, both
now and in the future."

Calculate the true cost of weeds
In a 2010 survey, 3 out of 5 growers reported an increase in hard-to-control weeds. And nearly half (45%) noted a rise in weeds resistant to glyphosate.1
Left uncontrolled, weeds rob crops of vital nutrients. The potential yield loss can add up fast — especially because weeds don't show visible crop damage like insects or disease.
Let's put that into real terms. Research from Iowa State University shows that 6-inch weeds in the field at the time of application can reduce yields by up to 9%. In 200 bu./A corn, that translates to a 18 bu./A yield loss.

Purdue University weed scientist Bill Johnson reminds growers that protecting crops against weeds means protecting yield.
"The goal within our crop production system is to protect yield to get more economic benefit from that field," Johnson says. "We use herbicides to protect yields; we don't use herbicides to kill weeds."
Weed control isn't just about the current season, either. "A giant ragweed plant produces between 5 and 10,000 seeds. That's relatively low compared to something like waterhemp or pigweed. It's important to keep weeds suppressed long enough that they're not putting more seed into the seedbank."
The Enlist Weed Control System will offer broad-spectrum control, by building on glyphosate-tolerant technology and enabling another mode of action. Join the conversation to share how weeds impact your farm.
Glyphosate-tolerant technology works as well as ever.
Doesn't it? Not exactly. Half of all growers have seen their
operational costs increase to continue using
glyphosate-tolerant technology.
What are weeds costing you?
What's on the horizon
After years of developing the Enlist™ Weed Control System, regulatory approvals are the next big step.
Pending these regulatory approvals, Dow AgroSciences expects the first sale of Enlist later in 2013 for planting in the 2014 crop year. Soybeans and cotton will follow, pending separate regulatory approvals.
Watch for more details about availability.
