We have a family farm operation, which includes my brother, sister and me. Our parents are still partially involved, as well. We milk dairy cows and grow corn, alfalfa and winter wheat. We were impressed with the weed control provided by the Enlist™ weed control system on our farm last year. We’re also excited about having access to the latest genetics with the Enlist corn.

We are done chopping corn. The Enlist corn was planted right alongside the same hybrid without the Enlist trait. The hybrid with the Enlist trait was drier than the hybrid without the trait.

Enlist met my expectations. The field was clean, and I was very satisfied with the yield. I will plant more Enlist corn in the future because of the weed control. It took care of everything.

We’ve always tried to stay on top of technology. We use the latest and greatest to keep us moving forward. With the Enlist system, I’m just looking to the future. If we have persistent weeds, what can we do to keep that down? We need to change technology so we can move forward with production and have the best crops we can grow.

Healthy Enlist™ corn crop

July 07, 2016

I was in the field 4-5 days after application, and all the weeds were dying. I am satisfied with the weed control. As far as the crop, it looked good. There were no signs of damage on the corn from Enlist Duo.

We’ve been getting lots of rain so everything is doing real good. Our corn is chest high and looking good.

The Enlist corn came out fast and even. We’ve had several small showers and warm days. We continue to get rain all the time, it’s been good for the corn.

Nice, sunny day for planting

Singulation was good while planting the Enlist corn — 99.5 percent accuracy. Now that the crop is in the ground, we’re interested in seeing the performance of the newer hybrids and better yield at harvest.

Wet field conditions

Our alfalfa is planted, and we started planting corn yesterday. It rained off and on all day today so it’s going to be a couple days before we’re back in the field.

Moving forward, we know resistance issues are going to get worse. We prefer to remain proactive on our weed control. We need to keep changing and incorporating new technology, such as the Enlist system.
